Dominik Szoboszlai has taken to life at Liverpool like a duck to water.
The Hungarian looks like he was born to play in a red shirt, and he’s already one of the Merseyside club’s very best players.
However, Szoboszlai hasn’t gotten to this point on his own.
Indeed, speaking on the We are Liverpool Podcast, Curtis Jones has been discussing the midfielder’s adaptation to this team, and he says that Mohamed Salah has been a big figure for Szoboszlai in terms of mentoring him on the pitch.
Jones says that Salah is always in the midfielder’s ear giving him instructions and telling him to play with a bit more freedom, and, in turn, that has helped the 23-year-old flourish at Anfield.

Jones shared what the £34m man and Szoboszlai’s relationship is like.
“He’s helping out Trent and he’s helping out Dom who’s come in. I think Dom is doing well as well because he always has Mo in his hear saying you don’t need to pass me the ball, go and shoot, go and be yourself, and you have Trent behind him telling him when to go and press. I don’t know what it is about this team, they’re just giving everything,” Jones said.
Massive help
This must be a massive help for a player like Szoboszlai.
The Hungarian had a hugely daunting task on his hands when he joined Liverpool in the summer, but getting this sort of help from one of the most senior pros in this Liverpool side is a huge boost.
Salah clearly sees something in Szoboszlai as he’s told him to play his own way and not bother about always looking to pass him the ball, and you have to be pretty special to get that sort of blessing from a player like Salah.
Szoboszlai has been brilliant for Liverpool so far, and long may it continue.
