Liverpool must begin their search for a new manager after Jurgen Klopp announced he would be leaving the Reds at the end of the season.
The 56-year-old, whose Liverpool contract was due to run until the summer of 2026, attributed his decision to “running out of energy”.
Over the past day, we’ve seen numerous names doing the rounds as potential replacements for Klopp at Anfield, such as Xabi Alonso and Roberto De Zerbi.
Now, Ben Jacobs has suggested that Bayern Munich’s Thomas Tuchel would “absolutely adore” the opportunity to take the Liverpool reins.
The 50-year-old has 11 major trophies to his name, including the 2022 Champions League, two Ligue 1 titles and one Bundesliga title.

He has since moved to Bayern but BILD recently reported that he is under pressure as the Bavarians continue to trail Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen.
Speaking to GiveMeSport about Tuchel and his prospects of replacing Klopp at Liverpool, Jacobs said: “It’s funny.
“Tuchel’s kind of saying he’s more appreciated in England than Germany and there could be a situation where he comes into the mix, which would be a little bit of a surprise, but I think he’d return to the Premier League in a heartbeat.
“And I think he’d love the opportunity to go to Liverpool and then show Chelsea what they missed out on. I think he would absolutely adore that.”
Liverpool could have other priorities rather than Thomas Tuchel – TBR View
Tuchel is a great manager with an impressive trophy haul and experience at the highest level, so in that sense, he’d be a good shout for Liverpool.
However, there’s no doubting that someone like Alonso – an outstanding young manager who’s doing superbly at Leverkusen and also happens to be an Anfield cult hero – would be a better shout in terms of taking the Reds reins and embarking on a project.
Likewise, De Zerbi has worked wonders at Brighton, keeping them punching above their weight, playing great football and helping build one of the strongest scouting systems in the world. He also seems like a better fit for Liverpool than Tuchel.
