Chris Sutton has aimed a little dig at the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool after seeing the Reds draw with Luton Town today.
Sutton has consistently spoken about and reference Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham this season after watching the former Celtic manager lead Spurs to the top.
Of course, Sutton’s allegiance to Celtic means that he is always going to support Postecoglou throughout the course of the season.
And taking to social media just after Liverpool drew with Luton today, Sutton aimed a little dig at the chasing pack like Arsenal, Liverpool and more with a subtle tweet.
Chris Sutton aims title dig at Liverpool and references Tottenham
Taking to his social media account on X, Sutton had the following to say.
Tottenham take on Chelsea tomorrow and can further extend their lead at the summit if they do.
They sit behind Man City for now but will go back top with a win against the Blues and put a five point gap between themselves, Liverpool and Arsenal if they do indeed win.
Tottenham and City are a problem
The issue the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal have here is that Manchester City are only just starting to purr and yet they are now sitting top of the table.
Put simply, City don’t drop points in that game today like Liverpool did. Likewise, Arsenal’s loss to Newcastle is another sign they still aren’t the full package.
Tottenham too are a problem for the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool. In previous years you’d back Spurs to simply fall away but this season they seem different under Ange.
Sutton, as we know, is never afraid to speak his mind and he’s clearly gone on the wind up here a bit with fans of other clubs.
But he seems to genuinely believe in Tottenham under Big Ange and it will be interesting to see just how long they can keep up their form.
