'I would not want to': Toni Kroos says he'd hate to go up against one Liverpool player

Toni Kroos has told Amazon Prime Sport that he “would not want to” find himself in a foot race against Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

The Reds ace is one of the fastest players in world football, and routinely uses his pace to get the better of opponents.

Back in March, ESPN listed Salah as the joint second-fastest player in the Premier League.

Only Antonio Rudiger was faster than the Liverpool star – and he’s since joined Kroos at Real Madrid.

Salah’s fastest recorded speed last season – as of March – was 36.6 kmh (22.7 mph), on par with Adama Traore.

And when Kroos was asked who would win in a race between him and Salah, he acknowledged he wouldn’t triumph.

“Sprint-off: Kroos or Salah?” asked the Amazon Prime Sport reporter.

“I would not want to see that,” the Real ace laughed. “That would at least result in a yellow card!”

Absolutely no shame in that – Kroos is a top-quality footballer, but speed isn’t really his forte.

Last year, GiveMeSport listed him as the 10th-fastest Real player at the time, with a top speed of 26.9 kph (16.7 mph).

But it’s not just Kroos – most players in world football would struggle to keep up with Salah

And the Egyptian is about much more than just speed – his all-round capabilities make him one of the world’s top strikers.

With four goals and three assists from nine Liverpool outings, is looks as though he’s on the right track in terms of his form.
