TalkSPORT pundit Ally McCoist has said that Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold should definitely be in the England squad.
Gareth Southgate called up four potential right-sided full backs in his latest squad.
He decided to play Reece James against Italy and Germany.

Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier was an unused substitute for both matches, despite his ‘very good’ start to the season.
He fared better than Alexander-Arnold, who was excluded from Southgate’s 23-man squad last night.
It’s a damning sign for the Liverpool full-back, who’s chances of going to the World Cup are now in serious doubt.
McCoist: ‘Alexander-Arnold is in my England squad’
Southgate called up 28 players in his most recent squad, but will only be allowed to take 26 to Qatar.
On top of that, the likes of Marcus Rashford, Ben White, Kalvin Phillips and Jadon Sancho weren’t included this time around.
Southgate has plenty of decisions to make, and may not be afforded the chance to select four right-backs.
Alexander-Arnold has only featured once for England this calendar year, and his omission has left some pundits flummoxed.
However, he has the backing of McCoist, who would have Alexander-Arnold in the England squad in November.

“I’ve said it for weeks, defensively he’s suspect, and we’ve seen already this season that he’s giving away important goals.
“I’m not necessarily playing him, but I also take him because if you don’t start him against one of the top teams, that will attack you more, and you lose a goal, I still think he gives you an option if you bring him on as an attacker on the right-hand side.
“I’m not necessarily starting him against the top teams, but he’s in my squad.”
