Don Hutchison has named who he believes will win the Premier League title after Arsenal jumped above Liverpool with their win on Wednesday night.
Everything is suggesting that the Premier League title race is going to go right down to the wire, with one point separating the top three right now.
Liverpool went into this round of fixtures top of the table. However, both Arsenal and Manchester City went on to win their games on Wednesday night, with the Gunners beating Luton, and City dispatching Aston Villa thanks to another Phil Foden masterclass.
But Liverpool have their chance to respond on Thursday. Jurgen Klopp‘s men host Sheffield United at Anfield.
Don Hutchison names his Premier League title favourites
On paper, it should surely be a relatively straightforward three points for the Reds. And with that, Don Hutchison has told ESPN that he thinks that the title is still in Liverpool’s grasp.
“I think if Liverpool beat Sheffield United and beat Man United, I think they’ll win the league,” he said. “I think if you look at the next two fixtures, they’re interesting. Because City have got Palace and Luton, you’d expect City to beat both of them. Arsenal have got two tricky ones. They’ve got Brighton away and Villa.
“So if Liverpool can beat Sheffield United tomorrow, which I expect them to do, and then go to Old Trafford when they did them in the cup game a couple of weeks ago where they got emotional, Liverpool, got sucked into a cup tie; if they play a bit more measured and they win both of their games, I think this could be Liverpool’s year. I’ve got them favourites.”

Obviously, all three sides have some challenging games left. Arsenal and Liverpool both still have to play the Villans. Meanwhile, all three must face Tottenham.
So you can understand Hutchison’s thinking.

But this Liverpool side is not as experienced in a Premier League title race. Manchester City are looking for the fourth league crown in a row. Meanwhile, Arsenal came so close last year.
The Gunners do appear to have improved. It was remarkable how comfortable they looked for so much of their win over Luton yesterday.
City have that gear that they can seemingly find in the business end of the season – and do not touch at anytime before that.
But Liverpool are being powered by the thought of giving Jurgen Klopp the perfect send-off.
And special things often tend to happen at Anfield.
