Rio Ferdinand has shared where he would rank Jurgen Klopp amongst the best managers the Premier League has seen after he announced that he will leave Liverpool in the summer.
Jurgen Klopp brought the football world to a standstill last week. It was announced that Klopp will leave Liverpool at the end of the current season.
Of course, Liverpool fans always knew that Klopp could not carry on forever. But they would have desperately hoped that he would still have a few more years left in him.

The Reds are currently top of the table. And they have made very impressive progress in rebuilding the side which pushed Manchester City all the way for a number of years.

He has certainly cemented himself as a Liverpool legend. And many of us neutrals are definitely going to miss him greatly when he is no longer in charge of the Reds.
But just where does the German rank amongst the best managers the Premier League has ever seen? Speaking on Vibe with Five, Rio Ferdinand suggested that he would put him behind Sir Alex Ferguson, Pep Guardiola, Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho.
“I’m going Fergie, Pep. What Pep’s done is a madness, regardless of what you can say about these issues that are ongoing and what not. But in terms of a creating a team to play mad football and wring out win after win, the points tallies they’ve got. Crazy,” he said.
“I think Wenger and Mourinho would go side by side for me, for different reasons. And then Klopp, yeah,” he went on to add.
Many Liverpool fans will see the list very differently
Certainly, on Premier League titles alone, Klopp has to be at the bottom of that particular list. But his one league title does not come close to telling the full story of his time on Merseyside.
Ultimately, Liverpool pushed arguably the greatest side the Premier League has seen. And obviously, everyone knows about how much has been invested into the Manchester City squad down the years.
Had Klopp arrived in a different era, he would have won so much more. And had the likes of Mourinho and Wenger arrived at a different time, they may have won a lot less.
It is hard to put Klopp higher on the list than Ferdinand has done. But Liverpool fans will understandably argue that they would put him right near the very top.
