'I think I have': One Liverpool player not best pleased with James Milner's Instagram post lauding Mo Salah

Diogo Jota has responded to James Milner’s Instagram post lauding Mohamed Salah by pointing out that he also enjoyed a pretty special evening as Liverpool beat Rangers in the Champions League.

Salah was absolutely devastating after coming off the bench at Ibrox. The Egyptian scored three goals in just over six minutes to score the fastest ever hat-trick in the competition.

It was a remarkable achievement from the Egyptian who has already done so much for the Reds during his time at Anfield. It took a disappointing night for Rangers and turned it into a humiliating one.

And Milner has now paid tribute to Salah on Instagram. However, that post has not gone down entirely well with all of his Liverpool teammates.

Jota was the man who provided the assist for all three of Salah’s goals. As reported by the Daily Mirror, he became the first player in a decade to tee up his teammate for a hat-trick in the competition.

And it seems that Jota – with tongue surely firmly in cheek – was not best pleased to be overlooked by Milner…

Jota’s role has somewhat changed so far this season. Before this campaign, the Portuguese had managed just nine assists in 85 games for the club.

He is actually yet to open his account in the Premier League or Champions League this season. But he has now contributed five assists in his seven games.

Obviously, most of those came on Wednesday against the Gers. But those numbers are only likely to go up as the likes of Salah, Roberto Firmino and Darwin Nunez continue to build up their confidence over the coming weeks.
