Robbie Mustoe has suggested that it has almost gone under the radar how good one Liverpool youngster is following their draw with Manchester City on Sunday.
The Reds were extremely impressive as they pushed Pep Guardiola’s men all the way at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp’s side will certainly wonder how they did not manage to take all three points.
What was so impressive about Liverpool’s performance was how quiet they kept Erling Haaland. The Norwegian hardly seemed to get a kick in the dangerous areas of the pitch. And nine players across the two teams had more attempts on goal.
Jarell Quansah exceptional again for Liverpool
Virgil van Dijk was exceptional once again. But he was supported brilliantly by Jarell Quansah, with the 21-year-old coming in for the injured Ibrahima Konate.

Sunday was no different. And speaking on The 2 Robbies podcast, Robbie Mustoe claimed that it probably is going under the radar how good Quansah has been.
“Even during and after – and maybe we’re guilty of that – not a lot of talk about Jarell Quansah. A lot of talk about Erling Haaland not getting a kick in the game. And as you said, there were a couple of moments where van Dijk stood out, the one on one defending with Haaland. But Quansah, and I remember Jurgen Klopp, the reporter asking questions about how proud he is of the young players and he mentioned Conor Bradley and maybe Elliott and a couple of the others. And Klopp said, what about Quansah? Nobody talks about Quansah. And I think he is sneaky blooming good,” he said.
Such a bright future ahead
Klopp is certainly handing over such an impressive group of players to his successor. Obviously, his hand has been forced at times. But he has showed no fear when it comes to using the younger players.
They will be better for the experiences they have had this season. And clearly, many of them are stepping up when the pressure is on.
Quansah definitely looks to have a huge future ahead of him. We may not be talking about him often enough right now. But much is going to be said about him in the future.
