'I say': Cesc Fabregas shares who he thinks is going to win on Sunday - Liverpool or Man City

Two-time Premier League winner Cesc Fabregas has now been predicting the crucial game between Liverpool and Manchester City this weekend.

Man City’s woeful record at Anfield does predate Pep Guardiola by a long while, but City still haven’t won at away at Liverpool in the league since May 2003.

And although Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side will be weakened by a few injuries this weekend, they’ll still be heading into the game with confidence.

City currently sit just one point behind Liverpool, meaning an historic win for the visitors would also propel them to top spot, regardless of what Arsenal do on Saturday.

Fans will probably imagine that a victory for either side on Sunday will make them favourites to lift the league title, even if that will only make it 28 games played.

Perhaps the fitness of Mohamed Salah will be a big factor, who might make his return in the Europa League tonight.

But either way, when speaking on the ‘Planet Premier League’ podcast, Cesc Fabregas was pretty firm in his prediction.

Cesc Fabregas thinks Man City will finally beat Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday

When City travel to Liverpool on Sunday, Fabregas is expecting Pep’s run of frustration at Anfield to end.

Fabregas seemed confident in saying: “I say as well, City win, 1-2.”

If Arsenal against Manchester United was perhaps the biggest game of the past, then there’s no doubt that City facing Liverpool is the big tie of the modern era.

And few games between the two have been better poised than Sunday’s meeting.

Jurgen Klopp will face Pep Guardiola in the Premier League for the last time, and there’s just countless narratives attached to the game.

Erling Haaland will duel with Virgil van Dijk once again, a fascinating battle between two of the world’s best.

And perhaps Darwin Nunez will also be hoping to prove himself on the biggest of stages, on the basis that he is fully fit.

All that being said, Rio Ferdinand couldn’t quite believe what Trent Alexander-Arnold just said before Sunday’s tie.
