Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has pledged to never take another English football club job after he leaves Anfield.
The Reds boss, speaking at a press conference on Friday, jokingly said he’d refuse such a role “even if I have nothing to eat”.
Klopp stunned the football world on Friday when he announced he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.
“I will leave the club at the end of the season,” Klopp said in a video shared by the Liverpool media team. “I understand that it’s a shock.”

In the sit-down interview on the Reds channels, Klopp stressed he would “never, ever manage a different club in England”.
Klopp held a press conference at 3pm on Friday, which thousands of people followed live on Liverpool’s X channel, and he reiterated those claims.
The Reds boss said, as transcribed by Paul Gorst of the Liverpool Echo on X: “No other English club, ever.
“I promise that, even if I have nothing to eat! That won’t happen thanks to LFC by the way. All OK.”

While it’s a shame to hear that Klopp is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, it’s heartening to hear him promise he’ll never take the reins of a rival English club.
Klopp has been an outstanding manager for Liverpool, taking them from a relatively mediocre position to the pinnacle of the game.
He has won the Premier League title, the Champions League and the FIFA World Club Cup with the Reds.
Let’s hope Klopp goes on to finish his Liverpool management career with a flourish, by bringing yet more silverware to Anfield.
