Liverpool fans are spoilt for choice when it comes to picking their favourite game of the modern era.
The 2005 Champions League Final may be the best game of all-time, the 4-0 win against Barcelona at Anfield in 2019 was magical, and, in very recent memory, it doesn’t get much better than beating Manchester United 7-0.
However, according to Trent Alexander-Arnold, speaking to BeIN Sports, there’s actually a game for Liverpool against United that he enjoyed more than the 7-0.
Indeed, Alexander-Arnold says he preferred the 5-0 victory at Old Trafford the year prior, but he does understand why some do prefer the 7-0.

The full-back gave his verdict on these two games.
“Yeah, you can’t. I mean, I prefer the 5-0 away from the season before, but I understand why the 7-0 is just something you’ll always remember, but for us, the way and the times we scored. We scored six in the second half and it was how many can you get, but to go to Old Trafford and score four in the first half it was unheard of, especially for a Liverpool team to do that, they’re the tightest games of the season, the most tense, the bitterest rivalry,” Alexander-Arnold said.
Incredible
The fact that Alexander-Arnold even has the ability to choose between these two games is incredible.
Liverpool have ultimate bragging rights over United after these two results.
Yes, United do have a knack of nicking the odd win over their great rivals, but it’s very unlikely that they’re ever going top the 7-0 or 5-0 drubbings that they’ve received from Liverpool in recent years.
These two great rivals face off again this weekend, and considering both sides’ recent form, it’s not ridiculous to suggest another historic Liverpool win could be on the cards.
