Pundit Ben Foster has now caused a bit of attention after warning a manager against taking the Liverpool job once Jurgen Klopp leaves this summer.
Having secured his first honour of the season, there’s perhaps reason to believe that Klopp’s final few months could be among his most decorated ever.

But it’s clear that Klopp’s squad are all pulling in the same direction, the players seem determined to give their manager the send off he deserves.
And whilst the players are focused on the games remaining, Liverpool’s senior staff must be working diligently behind the scenes to find a manager to replace Klopp.
Moreover, with that considered, Ben Foster has now been discussing the situation on ‘Fozcast’, considering a few of the candidates who could take the manager role at Liverpool.
It seems as if Xabi Alonso is the manager most linked with the job right now, with Ruben Amorim also seemingly in the mix.
Ben Foster warns Xabi Alonso against becoming the next Liverpool manager
When considering how much Klopp has already achieved this season, and what he could go on to do, Foster thought the job could prove something of a poisoned chalice.
There’s no doubt that Klopp will be leaving Liverpool in an incredibly strong position, but Foster thought the next manager may struggle to continue that success immediately.

Foster simply said: “Honestly if I was Xabi Alonso I ain’t touching that job. I’m not doing it.”
It perhaps seems as if Alonso will have a choice between the Liverpool and Bayern Munich jobs this summer – two excellent opportunities.
But as Foster points out, Alonso could be arriving at Anfield with an incredibly hard act to follow.
Whereas, should he be presented an opportunity at Bayern Munich, who he’s probably going to beat to the Bundesliga title, he would be seen as a breath of fresh air, a manager arriving to fix things.
It’s an interesting one to consider, and perhaps some will agree with the sentiments of Fosters’ words, the next Liverpool manager will have a lot to live up to.
That being said, Alan Shearer has now been discussing a contentious VAR call from Sunday’s final.
