‘I’m going to go with’: Ian Wright has predicted who will win – Liverpool or Man City

Liverpool face Manchester City this weekend in what is one of the Premier League’s best fixtures in the modern era.

These two sides have been the two powerhouses in this league for the best part of a decade now, and on Saturday, they meet for the first time since stepping into new eras.

Indeed, both clubs underwent something of an overhaul this summer with many high-profile incomings and outgoings, and, as ever, both sides have started the season brilliantly.

These are the two form teams in the Premier League, and predicting a winner here won’t be easy.

However, speaking on Stick to Football, Ian Wright has had a go at predicting who will come out on top in this game, and he says that he fancies Liverpool to win at the Etihad.

The pundit gave his verdict on how this game would go.

“I’m going to go with Liverpool. I’m feeling a bit. I feel like defensively Liverpool should’ve conceded more by now, but the goalkeeper is amazing, and people have missed chances. I think with that midfield with Endo, Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, with Salah in amazing form, I feel like this is a good one for Liverpool, I fancy Liverpool,” Wright said.

Tough call

It’s so tough to call any of these games between the top sides, because anything can happen.

Ultimately these matches are often decided by who turns up on the day and who doesn’t make any big mistakes.

Both of these teams do have a slip-up in them. After all, City recently lost to Wolves and Liverpool had a near-miss against Luton.

Sometimes in football, it’s just about who wants it more, and the victor on Saturday may be decided by which team puts in the hard yards.
