'I love him': Alan Pardew says he'd just love to play with 'great' £45m Liverpool player right now

Liverpool smashed their way past Brentford this weekend but it came at a cost as Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez were both injured.

Curtis Jones was also among the players to pick up injuries on the day and Jurgen Klopp now faces an anxious wait over his players before this weekend’s cup final.

However, prior to the injuries, Liverpool were once again purring and that was led by the brilliant and energetic performance up front of Diogo Jota.

The Portuguese forward has been a menace all season for the Reds. Since signing from Wolves for around £45m, Jota has worked his way into being a favourite among both the fans and players at Anfield.

And speaking on TalkSPORT today, former Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has said that he simply loves Jota and would love to have him in his team when he was playing.

“Oh I love him. You’d love him in your team wouldn’t you? Love him. He works hard, he’s always trying to create something, great player,” Pardew said.

Diogo Jota is brilliant for Liverpool

Among all the brilliant attacking players at Liverpool, none of them seem to be able to do what Diogo Jota does for this Liverpool team.

He has a directness about him that means he can explode in the final third and catch defenders off guard when they least expect it.

Add to that he is a superb finisher with both feet and head and Liverpool have got one of the very best forwards in Europe right now.

Jota’s injury against Brentford is going to be a massive loss for them. Quite how they recover and if Cody Gakpo or someone else can step in, remains to be seen.
