‘I’ll go with’: Joe Cole has now predicted the result of Liverpool vs Chelsea tonight

Liverpool face Chelsea at Anfield on Wednesday evening, and one man who knows a lot about both of these teams is Joe Cole.

The former England international, of course, spent time at both Stamford Bridge and Anfield during his playing career, and speaking to 90Min, he’s had a go at predicting how this game will go.

Of course, Liverpool are flying high at the top of the league right now while Chelsea are in mid-table, but despite the discrepancy in terms of league position, Cole reckons Chelsea will get a result here.

Indeed, Cole says that he thinks this one will end 1-1, just as the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge on the opening day did.

Cole tips 1-1 draw

The pundit shared how he can see this one going.

“Chelsea are actually on an upwards spiral now. Do I think the Liverpool game will define them? I think it’s crucial and I think Chelsea are set up better to play against teams like Liverpool and Man City with pace in behind, Sterling, Mudryk, Jackson. I think it’s a massive game and I think Chelsea can go there and get something,” Cole said.

“I’ll go early, I’ll go with 1-1. I think Chelsea get a result and I think it’s a good result for both clubs. I think Liverpool need to keep plugging away and not get beat and I think Liverpool can win the league this year.”

Difficult

Looking at league positions, you’d think this could be an easy game for Liverpool, but as Cole says, Chelsea often do perform better against the top teams.

Chelsea have picked up results against each of Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham already this season, and they’ll hope to continue that trend at Anfield on Wednesday.

A win here would be huge for Liverpool’s title hopes, but this game won’t be easy, that’s for sure.
