Pundit John Obi Mikel has now been sharing his thoughts on the Premier League title race between Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Mikel was speaking on his podcast, ‘The Obi One’, and was adamant in his view, one that hadn’t changed since the start of the season.

The former Chelsea midfielder suggested that one side have a certain edge in their character and arrogance in the toughest of situations.

And without even mentioning Liverpool or Arsenal, two teams sitting higher in the table, Mikel was confident that Man City would get the job done once again.

He said: “Still sticking with City. I just love the way this City team play. Every Saturday or Sunday I just have to watch them play.

“I was watching them against Luton, they made things awkward for this City side, they were very physical – kicking the hell out of the City players – but then second half they came out and found a way, kept on passing the ball, kept on moving.

“You could see they went up a gear. They came out with a certain arrogance and they pinned Luton back until they got the equaliser and the winning goal.

“It just shows the character of this City side.”

John Obi Mikel still tips Man City to beat Liverpool and Arsenal to the title

Of course, many Liverpool and Arsenal fans will protest the character of their own teams.

Not only did Liverpool comeback against Crystal Palace on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp’s side also showed their resilience and determination against Fulham.

And despite an unfortunate loss against Aston Villa, Arsenal have already beaten Man City this season, a huge scalp for the club.

Moreover, there’s then Aston Villa themselves, who will now want to be included in this conversation.

It’s hard to argue too strongly with Mikel’s Man City tip, they’d probably still be favourites even if 10 points behind, but Arsenal and Liverpool do have a strong chance this season.

As always, the festive period will be telling.

Liverpool will like their chances of sitting top on Christmas Day, but will have to overcome a visit from Arsenal two days prior.

That being said, Roy Keane also recently shared his thoughts on the title race this season.
