Gary Neville claims that one Liverpool player has gone to a ‘different level’ this season.
It was a disappointing weekend for Liverpool as they fell to a shock 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Anfield.
The Reds have hit a rough patch of form at the worst possible time as Jurgen Klopp bids to deliver a farewell Premier League title.
It was a familiar story for Liverpool on Sunday as they failed to take their opportunities following an improved second-half display.
Jamie Carragher feels their finishing is a ‘huge problem’ for Klopp at the moment.
Despite a significant setback, it wasn’t all bad news for Liverpool as Trent Alexander-Arnold returned to action against Palace.
The Englishman made his long-awaited comeback from a knee injury as he replaced the injured Conor Bradley early in the second half.
Alexander-Arnold was once again proving to be a key man for the Reds before the injury, having racked up two goals and nine assists in all competitions this season.
And Gary Neville feels he’s noticed a big change in the right-back’s game of late.

Alexander-Arnold sat down with Neville on the latest episode of The Overlap.
The Manchester United legend told the Liverpool star that he’s noticed a shift in his mentality this season.
“This season I have noticed a big [difference],” Neville said.
“Your mentality at the start of the season, your performance levels have always been high, but this season I have felt like there is a determination in you that was like this is a different level this. To the point where before your injury I felt like you were one of the Players of the Season.”

There’s no getting away from the fact that Alexander-Arnold has been a big miss for Liverpool in recent weeks.
Bradley has performed well at right-back but looks set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury.
Klopp will undoubtedly be keen to get Alexander-Arnold back to full match sharpness ahead of a crucial run of the games.
The 25-year-old is often Liverpool’s main creator while drifting into midfield and his added creativity could be key during the run-in.
Liverpool have it all to do in Italy on Thursday as they bid to recover from a 3-0 defeat at Anfield last week.
With Bradley likely to miss out, it could present a good opportunity for Alexander-Arnold to get some much-needed minutes under his belt.
