Arne Slot looks like being the new Liverpool manager but legendary striker Robbie Fowler has made a frank admission.
The Dutch coach looks all set to be the Reds’ replacement for Jurgen Klopp and a deal could be announced in days, according to multiple reports.
For Slot, taking over from Klopp is going to be one of the biggest jobs in world football and a huge challenge.

Indeed, not everyone expected Slot to be the man Liverpool plumped for.
And according to Robbie Fowler, he was very much on the train of Liverpool fans who didn’t have much idea about Slot’s credentials.

Writing in The Mirror, Fowler admitted that he’d not really heard much of Slot and had to Google what he was all about.
“I’ll be honest, I hadn’t a clue Slot was even in the conversation among the power brokers who run Liverpool. He wasn’t someone who jumped out at me as a candidate. In fact, I knew nothing about Slot at all or the way he plays and, probably like many people, I dived into Google to check him out,” Fowler said.
“He’s done OK at Feyenoord the last couple of seasons, but only time will tell if he can take Liverpool to greater heights than Klopp managed. That will be a tall order, but the more pressing problem for Liverpool is getting some stability back into players feeling the effects of Jurgen’s imminent departure. They’ve had nearly nine years of Klopp at Liverpool and suddenly everything is about to change.”
Internally, the players and staff at Liverpool are thought to have received the news on Slot well.
However, it’s clear that there are people out there who don’t know too much and it’s nice to see Fowler actually admitting it here.
Time will tell whether or not he is a good appointment.
The Liverpool job is hard enough at the best of times so for Slot to succeed after Klopp goes, it’s going to take some doing.
