‘I felt sorry for’: Pundit says he actually felt really bad for £16m Liverpool player after Fulham win

Spare a thought for Wataru Endo after Liverpool’s win at the weekend.

The Japan international must’ve thought he was going to be the hero of the day after his late equaliser for the Reds on Sunday, but he was upstaged by Trent Alexander-Arnold in the dying minutes of the game.

Of course, Endo will have been buzzing to get the win, but his fantastic first goal for the club is now nothing but an afterthought after three other brilliant goals by Alexander-Arnold and Alexis Mac Allister.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Leroy Rosenior has been discussing Endo’s goal on Sunday, and he says he actually feels a bit sorry for the £16m man as he had the limelight snatched from him.

Sympathy for Endo

Rosenior shared his sympathy for the midfielder.

“There were four terrific goals, a typical Liverpool performance, but do you know what, I felt sorry for Endo, how can his goal, he scored his first goal for the club and it wasn’t even the best goal out of the four, some of those goals were just incredible,” Rosenior said.

Annoying

We’re sure Endo won’t lose too much sleep over this, but it is annoying that his moment of glory lasted all of about two minutes.

Trent Alexander-Arnold snatched all the headlines with his winner, but we mustn’t take anything away from Endo and what it must’ve taken to score his goal in that moment.

His strike was sublime and it came in a moment where many players wouldn’t have been able to keep a calm head in front of a ravenous crowd and minutes away from defeat.

Hopefully, this moment provides Endo with the necessary platform to now kick on and make himself a hero at Liverpool.
