Jamie Carragher has given his verdict on Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund after watching him in action against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Anfield.
The former Liverpool defender has wondered whether United are too big a club for Hojlund at the moment.
So, what has Jamie Carragher said about Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund? Let’s take a look.
Jamie Carragher reacts to Rasmus Hojlund display for Manchester United vs Liverpool
Well, Manchester United played out a goalless draw with Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
Liverpool were heavy favourites heading into the match, and I have to say that United did well to pick up a point and keep a clean sheet.
Rasmus Hojlund started the match for the Red Devils. The 20-year-old Denmark international striker was deployed as the lone striker up front in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

There was one occasion when the £72 million striker could have scored, but he failed to get his effort past Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
Jamie Carragher was following the match for Sky Sports, and the former Liverpool defender was not impressed with Hojlund, suggesting that a move to United may have come too early for him. The striker joined the former Premier League champions from Italian club Atalanta in the summer of 2023.
Carragher said about Hojlund on Sky Sports Premier League (7:13 pm, December 17, 2023): “I feel a bit sorry for him in that it feels like this move has come a little bit too early for him.
“He was signed from Atalanta in the summer, it feels as though there should be a club here [below United] and then United.
“I feel for him, he doesn’t get much service at all. I feel for him. We say you need time but when you are at the top clubs you don’t get that long.
“He has scored in the Champions League but I just hope this move hasn’t come too early in his career.’
Keep faith in Rasmus Hojlund
In my view, Manchester United fans should keep faith in Rasmus Hojlund. Manager Erik ten Hag has been impressed by the striker in training and has high hopes for him.
While Hojlund is struggling in the Premier League, he has scored in the UEFA Champions League. That shows that the Denmark international striker has the quality.
United as a team have not done particularly well this season, and I believe that has affected Hojlund. I think that the striker will come good for the Red Devils… eventually.
