Liverpool and Manchester City both got big wins this weekend ahead of their mammoth clash at Anfield next weekend.
In what could prove to be a title decider between the pair, Anfield will play host to what will be the last league meeting for Jurgen Klopp against old foe, Pep Guardiola.
For Liverpool, that home advantage could be massive and with City not having a great record at Anfield either, there’ll be high hopes among the home fans.

“It’s going to be special. I don’t think City can afford to lose. If it’s a draw then they’re still in it, cos they’ll go four points behind Liverpool [with a defeat]. That means two bad results for Liverpool between now and the end of the season so I think it’s really important that City don’t lose from their point of view, it’s going to be massive,” Owen said.
Liverpool will smell blood
Liverpool are flying at the moment even with big injuries and if they can get somehow get Mo Salah and a few more back fit for next week, they’ll really fancy it.
Yes, City will come with confidence of their own and having hammered Man United, will not fear Klopp’s men one bit.
But Anfield can be one intimidating place for away sides and if City are not at the races by even a small margin, Liverpool will be all over them.
As Owen says here, there is an element of City just not losing this one. Sometimes, it’s best to take your medicine and move on and in the end, both sides will settle for a point you imagine.
