201 Liverpool are one of the clubs being linked with a move for Fulham’s Joao Palhinha and Fabrizio Romano has been giving the latest on matters.
Palhinha is one of the star midfielders plying their trade outside the top six and was very close to signing for Bayern Munich in the summer. But, in the end, he remained at Craven Cottage and has since starred again.
However, rumours over Palhinha’s future are once again swirling and Liverpool are one of the clubs being credited with being interested in him. The Portuguese is in high demand, with Arsenal also said to be keen.
But while links to Liverpool continue, Fabrizio Romano has told CaughtOffside that as yet, there’s nothing for Reds fans to be excited about when it comes to Palhinha signing.
“There have been lots of rumours regarding Fulham’s Joao Palhinha in recent weeks and I can honestly say that I don’t have concrete information on Liverpool being in talks to sign Palhinha yet. For sure the top Premier League clubs are informed on the player’s situation at Craven Cottage but nothing has started in terms of negotiations with Joao or Fulham yet. Also, Liverpool still have to decide what areas of the pitch they want to invest in during the January transfer window,” Romano said.
Liverpool have to push hard for Joao Palhinha
With Jurgen Klopp guiding the Reds to such a good spot in the Premier League and with Man City faltering, you would really expect FSG to back their team.
Liverpool have a real chance of landing another Premier League title this season but they are missing one or two players who can get them over the line.
Palhinha, it has to be said, is a player who can help with that. The midfielder has been outstanding for Fulham ever since he arrived and he very much looks like what Liverpool are currently missing.
With that, it’s completely baffling if Liverpool don’t make their push for Palhinha if he’s available in January.
It’s pretty obvious his agents are hankering for a move and Liverpool would be ideal.
