Liverpool take on Manchester City this weekend and Stan Collymore has been offering up his prediction on the outcome of the game.
In the weekend’s biggest clash, the Reds host Pep Guardiola’s men looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table. It’s set to be a huge atmosphere at Anfield, where Jurgen Klopp hosts his biggest rival for the last time in league action.
Of course, plenty have had their say on who might win. David Seaman has suggested a 2-2 draw, while Gary Neville thinks City will get the job done.
And writing for CaughtOffside, former Liverpool striker Collymore has now had his say.

Offering up his thoughts on the game, Collymore, like Seaman, went with a draw, with both Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez to play key parts.
“These types of blockbuster matches rarely live up to expectations. It’s a huge game, there is no doubt about that, but I just think there is so much at stake that neither team can really afford to lose it. There are going to be hundreds of camera crews stationed at Anfield ahead of what a lot of people are expecting to be a sporting spectacle. I’m just not convinced we’re going to be treated to a goal-fest,” Collymore said.
“I actually think this weekend’s big winners are going to be Arsenal. I see them comfortably beating Brentford on Saturday and putting all the pressure on Liverpool and City. I think both teams will score but it’ll be a low-scoring game — I’m going to predict 1-1 with both Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland playing key roles.”
A huge game
You cannot really call this one at all. Liverpool are in fine form but have a number of big injuries, while City are starting to really motor on as they always do this time of year.
The draw feels a bit like sitting on the fence from Collymore but in reality, both teams would probably take the point and move on, as we often see.
For City, it does feel like if they can get the win then it sends an ominous message to everyone else.
Of course, Arsenal will be watching on with interest as we know. And as Collymore says, they stand to be the big winners if the game does end in a draw.
