'I actually think': Stan Collymore predicts Liverpool v Chelsea ;makes bold Mykhaylo Mudryk claim

Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has told CaughtOffside that he has a feeling this could be a big weekend for Liverpool when they play Chelsea.

The Reds entertain the Blues to kick off the weekend’s Premier League action tomorrow. It comes as both side struggle for consistent results. Liverpool beat Wolves 1-0 in the cup in midweek. Chelsea, meanwhile, saw off Palace 1-0 last weekend.

And predicting the game, Collymore believes Liverpool will win out, even though he expects Chelsea to throw new signing Mykhaylo Mudryk right into the mix.

“Start him against Liverpool on the weekend? – Absolutely! He’s got to get up to speed and that is difficult when you come to the Premier League from somewhere like Ukraine, but he has pace, directness and trickery, and that is exactly what Chelsea need right now,” Collymore wrote.

“I actually think Liverpool will win the game on the weekend and if they do, it could be the start of a turnaround for Jurgen Klopp.”

Liverpool and Chelsea both desperately need to win to reignite their top four pushes. Both have added players in January, albeit the Blues have gone mad with their spending.

TBR’s View: Mudryk can be a problem but Liverpool have enough

There’ll be a weird excitement among both sets of fans really when it comes to Mudryk. So much has been made of his signing that he’s become a bit of a must see player.

Liverpool will fancy winning this one though. At home, against a team struggling, with Darwin Nunez due back as well, there is a lot to like.

Mudryk will be a problem if he plays. If anything for his unpredictability. But the Reds love playing at home and if ever there’s a time to ignite the season, it’s beating Chelsea on a Saturday afternoon.
