‘His decision making isn’t spot on’: Pundit says £36m Liverpool player can make so many mistakes

Arsenal face Liverpool on Saturday, and heading into this game, the Gunners will need to find a way to break the Reds down.

Arsenal haven’t exactly been at their very best in an attacking sense so far this season, and heading into this weekend, they face the almost impossible task of breaking down a backline that contains Virgil van Dijk.

However, speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, Adrian Clarke has highlighted one player he feels Arsenal can exploit in the shape of Ibrahima Konate.

Clarke says that Konate can be prone to the odd mistake due to the fact his decision making isn’t quite spot on, claiming that while he is quick, he’\s potentially a player Gabriel Jesus could get the better off.

Konate makes mistakes

Clarke shared his verdict on the £36m player.

“Konate is quick we know that, but some of his decision making isn’t spot on, he’s the trigger Gabriel Jesus, get him on the ball, he will look after it and build a platform to give it to Odegaard, Havertz and the wide players He can drag Konate, Trent or Van Dijk away for a runner, that’s a way to unlock them, from turnovers there is so much space and Jesus, Saka and Martinelli can have fun,” Clarke said.

Needs to improve

Konate looked like Van Dijk’s heir apparent when he first arrived at Liverpool, but in recent weeks, he’s been way off the boil.

The Frenchman has been reckless, rash and needlessly risky on the ball, and he needs to cut that out if he’s going to help Liverpool win the league.

Konate is now set for a long run in the team after Joel Matip’s injury, and he needs to show that he can handle these big games and keep strikers like Jesus quiet even though their football IQ is brilliant.

Konate could be a difference maker this weekend one way or another.
