Liverpool defender Conor Bradley has earned praise from BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks, who named the Reds gem in his latest team of the week.

The Liverpool academy graduate’s goal against Chelsea was “of the highest quality” and two goalkeepers wouldn’t have been able to save it, according to Crooks.

Bradley has enjoyed a breakthrough season and announced himself to the football world last Wednesday as he registered a goal and two assists against the Blues.

The Anfield gem supplied the pass for Diogo Jota to open the scoring in the 23rd minute of the match on Merseyside.

Bradley then got the goal his display warranted as he raced in from the right and found the far corner with a superb strike on 39 minutes.

The Northern Irishman went on to help Liverpool add a third on 65 minutes when he crossed for Dominik Szoboszlai to head home.

Liverpool talent Conor Bradley is ‘of the highest quality’

Bradley’s performance against Chelsea dazzled Crooks, who named the 20-year-old in his team of the week.

“I saw this lad make his Premier League debut at Bournemouth and he caught my eye then,” Crooks wrote on BBC Sport.

“However, what took place against Chelsea 10 days later stopped me in my tracks.

“First and foremost Bradley can defend, and secondly the goal he scored against Chelsea was of the highest quality.

“I’ve seen current Liverpool strikers smash balls towards the goal without a great deal of thought.

“Bradley’s strike in the 4-1 demolition of Chelsea was so precise if the Blues had two keepers in goal they wouldn’t have saved it – it was a fabulous goal.

“What impressed me most about the full-back’s performance was he played the game as though he belonged in the team.”

Conor Bradley a rising star for Liverpool

Liverpool have done amazingly well on the youth front in recent years.

The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Jarell Quansah and Harvey Elliott have all become established first-teamers at Anfield.

Bradley is very much the next in line. He is an amazing talent and it’ll be exciting to see how he continues to develop for Liverpool and for Northern Ireland.

Credit also to the Reds youth setup for the role they played in turning another top talent into a Premier League first-teamer.
