153 Darwin Nunez remains one of the most enigmatic footballers in the world today.
The Uruguayan has been leading the line all season long for the team that is currently top of the Premier League, and yet, there’s still this feeling that he has a lot of improvement still to come.
Indeed, Nunez is still remarkably raw, and, in all honesty, he’s. not scoring as many goals as he should.
The striker is so close to making it all click and being a truly sensational striker, but, as of yet, he’s not there.
Speaking on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, Ledley King has been discussing Nunez and his potential, and he has tipped the striker to improve next season and have a big campaign in front of goal.
Nunez will improve
King shared his verdict on the striker.
“Every individual is different. The best players can shrug that off. He doesn’t strike me as somsone who will shy away from creating chances for himself. This is what we’ve seen from Nunez, he gets some fantastic chances. His finishing probably isn’t up to an elite level at this moment in time. I like him as a player, I think next season he will improve even more and I think everyone thinks there’s a big season in him,” King said.
Big season ahead
Nunez could well be set for a massive campaign next time around.
He’s getting more and more chances in front of goal. His movement seems to be improving week on week, and if Liverpool’s next manager can find a way to add an element of composure into his game, he could well be a superstar.
Nunez has so many attributes that would allow him to be a top player, he just needs to put the final pieces of the puzzle together.
