Jeff Stelling has admitted that he thinks Mohamed Salah may have produced his worst performance for Liverpool in their draw with Manchester United on Sunday.
The Reds seemed to lose all of their composure in front of goal against Erik ten Hag’s side. Jurgen Klopp’s men rarely tested Andre Onana at Anfield as the game ended goalless.
Certainly, one of the biggest surprises from the game was the performance of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian has been exceptional so far this season. But he almost looked rusty against United.
Jeff Stelling cannot remember Mohamed Salah playing worse for Liverpool
Jamie Carragher noted that Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai were so sloppy during the first-half. And ultimately, the 31-year-old’s afternoon did not improve as the game went on.

“They need to look at themselves because Liverpool were terrible and all the headlines, Liverpool 34 attempts on goal, they didn’t didn’t have any clear-cut opportunties,” he said.
“And I don’t take any pleasure in saying this because I’m a big fan, I’ve never seen Mo Salah have a worse game for Liverpool.
“He was so poor.”
No teammate able to step up as talisman toils
Salah was entitled to an off-day. He has still managed to score 11 times in the Premier League this season. Only Erling Haaland has found the back of the net more often.
But it will concern Jurgen Klopp that none of the other attacking players stepped up while he had a tough time.
In fairness, Manchester United defended well, with Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans using all of their experience to try and nullify the home side.
But Liverpool had the quality to add to the visitors’ woes. Unfortunately, along with Salah, it proved to be a disappointing day at the office for the likes of Szoboszlai, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo.
