236 In recent days, there have been links between Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou and the soon-to-be-vacant Liverpool hotseat.
The Spurs head coach is ‘one of the names being bandied about to take over at Liverpool‘ at the end of the season, as per Sky Sports.
Postecoglou‘s great work at Tottenham and previous clubs like Celtic, as well as the fact he used to be a “massive Liverpool fan”, have led to this speculation.
However, when asked about the links at Friday’s press conference, Postecoglou suggested he’s only getting started at Spurs.
“I’ve only been here for seven months so I think that is self-explanatory,” the Tottenham boss said ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Wolves.
“I am at pains to say that we still have a long way to go in terms of the football we want to play, the team we want to be and the squad we want to have.”
Ange Postecoglou ‘very happy at Tottenham’ amid Liverpool links
Now, Fabrizio Romano has sought to allay any remaining Tottenham fears about Postecoglou’s future amid links to Anfield.
The transfer insider, writing on CaughtOffside, says the 58-year-old is “very happy” at Spurs and isn’t aware of any contact between the manager and other clubs.
“Ange Postecoglou put any rumours of him wanting to leave Tottenham to go to Liverpool to bed in his recent press conference, and guys I’ve nothing on Postecoglou and Liverpool so far,” said Romano.
“He’s very happy at Tottenham and I’m not aware of contacts with other clubs.
“He was also very much involved in talks to convince Lucas Bergvall to join Spurs for example, so it doesn’t look like a worrying situation to me.”

It’s great to hear that Postecoglou is loving life at Tottenham and has no intention of leaving any time soon.
The Australian has dragged Spurs up by the scruff of the neck and fashioned them into a solid team that looks capable of a top-four finish this season.
Not only that, but Postecoglou has worked wonders in the transfer market, bringing in some top talents to go along other exciting youngsters that Tottenham have signed in recent years.
