Danny Murphy has claimed that Liverpool would win the league if they had Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice in the ranks.
Rice was excellent throughout the 1-1 draw between Arsenal and Liverpool last night. Ian Wright was among the pundits to sing his praises after the game, while Bukayo Saka also spoke fondly of his teammate after full-time as well.
The England midfielder was a man in-demand in the summer but it was Arsenal who got the deal over the line.
And speaking about Rice in his latest column, former PL midfielder Danny Murphy believes Liverpool would be champions if they had Rice.
Liverpool would win the league with Declan Rice
Writing in his latest column for The Daily Mail, Murphy had high praise for the Gunners star.
“If there’s any young holding midfielder out there who wants to learn how to improve every aspect of their game, watch this match and follow Declan Rice. He was sensational,” Murphy said.
“It also made me realise how much Liverpool need a player like him. If Rice wore a Liverpool shirt, I think they win the title. He’s that good. He was phenomenal last night, in every aspect. His reading of the game, winning the ball, his positional play, keeping hold of the ball under pressure, playing through the lines. It was an all-round brilliant display.”

There was a reason there was such a clamour for Rice to be signed in the summer. He’d shown how good he could be with West Ham and at Arsenal, he seems to be getting better.
Rice is proving to be a bit of a steal for the Gunners even though they forked out a club-record £100m to sign him.
As it stands, you could easily argue he gets into any team in Europe, such are his performance levels.
Arsenal must be delighted that they were the club he chose in the end. And those who missed out, such as Chelsea, will be left wondering what might have been.
