Micah Richards has admitted he feels sorry for Harvey Elliott as he believes the Liverpool youngster should be starting every week in the Premier League.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, the pundit raved about the Liverpool midfielder after his display against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Reds picked up a narrow 2-1 win at Selhurst Park over the weekend to move above Arsenal to the top of the Premier League.
It wasn’t straightforward by any means as Liverpool ground out a positive result after going 1-0 down.
One man who helped Jurgen Klopp’s side turn the game on its head was Harvey Elliott, with the youngster netting the winner.

And Micah Richards has admitted he feels sorry for Elliott due to a lack of starts at Liverpool this season.
Richards says Elliott is a ‘diamond’
Speaking on the Monday Night Club, Richards lauded Elliott after his display from the bench on Saturday.
“Harvey Elliot is such a diamond of a player,” the former Manchester City man said. “His intelligence on the ball, knowing when to pass, going into little spaces.
“I feel a bit sorry for him because he should be starting week in, week out for a Premier League side but Liverpool are so good. Do you play him a bit deeper, as one of the eights? But he is so creative.
“When I mentioned before and were talking about Aston Villa, when you look at the array of talent Liverpool have, added with the extra time because we are playing more football, stoppage time is at least eight minutes in every game, there is always going to be more late goals.
“I just believe with the talent Liverpool have going forward, even when they are conceding three to Fulham, they have the chance to come back.”

The Englishman faces stern competition for a place in the Liverpool side due to the talent Klopp has at his disposal. But his recent form will certainly give the German boss something to think about.
Liverpool looked way off the pace on Saturday and there’s no doubt that Elliott was key in turning the game around.
