Liverpool head into their game against Arsenal this weekend with a few selection headaches to contend with.
Jurgen Klopp has some big decisions to make here.
The back four basically picks itself, but Joe Gomez may be an option at left-back to nullify Bukayo Saka, while there are more and more calls to drop Darwin Nunez after his 10th game without a goal.
There are also decisions to make in the midfield. Ryan Gravenberch may be back fit, but he might not be 100%, while Harvey Elliott has made a case for a starting spot in recent weeks.
Speaking on Liverpool’s official YouTube channel, Neil Mellor has been discussing Curtis Jones, and he reckons the 22-year-old could be in pole position to get a start in the midfield this weekend.

Mellor shared his verdict on the young midfielder.
“I felt as though Curtis finished the season really well and had a great Euros with England. He understands what is required of him in the midfield, and he’s a player who really suits the way Jurgen wants to play, so you’re looking and thinking maybe he’s one who could start at the weekend,” Mellor said.
Earned it
Jones is rarely one of the first names on the teamsheet for these huge games, but you would argue that he’s earned his chance to start here.
The Reds were flat against Manchester United at the weekend, but against West Ham, there was an increased level of dynamism from the midfield, and Jones had a huge part to play in that with his two goals.
Jones was Man of the Match against the Hammers, and Jurgen Klopp is a manager who often rewards good performances with starts, so we wouldn’t be shocked one bit if Jones does find himself starting at Anfield on Saturday.
Klopp has to get his team selection spot on here if they’re to leapfrog Arsenal at the top of the table.
