'He's off': Graeme Souness is convinced he's seen sign one Liverpool player is leaving this summer

Graeme Souness is convinced he’s spotted a sign that one Liverpool player will be heading out the door this summer.

It’s expected to be a busy few months at Anfield as Liverpool prepare for life without Jurgen Klopp.

Barring any late surprises, Arne Slot will be the man who replaces the German and he’s likely to go about building a squad in his image.

Liverpool have already been linked with a few of his current stars at Feyenoord, including midfield duo Quinten Timber and Mats Wieffer.

But there could also be departures at Liverpool this summer and Graeme Souness is convinced one key star is going to leave.

Souness thinks Liverpool star is going to leave

Speaking on Up Front, Souness discussed Mohamed Salah’s clash with Klopp in the 2-2 draw at West Ham United last weekend.

The Egyptian star was pushed away from his manager by Darwin Nunez just before he was introduced into the action in the second half.

And off the back of Salah clashing with Klopp, Souness believes Salah will make the switch to Saudi Arabia this summer.

“He’s off, Salah. I believe he’s off,” the Liverpool legend said. “I think it’s just a case of Salah, who has been fabulous for Liverpool, Salah who will be the biggest star in the Arab world will have an exceptionally large opinion of himself and he will have been angry at not starting the game or coming on earlier.

“And I think that was a reaction, ‘you are putting me on with 10 minutes to go and you want me to go and change it for me now’. I think that was more Salah than Jurgen.”

What Klopp said to Salah during West Ham vs Liverpool

Many have wondered what was said between Salah and Klopp that led to the duo clashing in Saturday’s game.

West Ham’s Michail Antonio seems to have provided some insight into what happened on the touchline.

“So basically, this is not inside information, but what I have heard, this is what the boys have been talking about on the training ground,” he said.

“As players come on Klopp usually gives them a big hug, but when Mo came on he walked in a different direction and did his shinpads and stuff.

“Klopp put his hand out to him and his hand was there for a bit and he just slapped his hand. Klopp didn’t like that and was like ‘do you want to sit back down’, basically saying do you want to go on? And nobody has told me what Mo said back.”

As for Salah’s future, it would appear that Liverpool are very much planning for at least one more season with the winger.

David Ornstein revealed on Monday that the Reds expect the 31-year-old to stay at the club beyond the summer, with Saudi clubs also believing Salah wants to remain at Anfield.

Of course, Liverpool rejected a £150 million bid from Al Ittihad for Salah last summer and following his clash with Klopp, speculation has ramped up once again.
