Danny Murphy has suggested that Bukayo Saka is not yet on the level of Mohamed Salah as he claimed that he would take all of the Liverpool front three over the Arsenal trio.

Murphy was speaking on talkSPORT (22/11; 12:30) as he suggested that he would have both Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz over Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus.

Danny Murphy picks Bukayo Saka over Mohamed Salah

Liverpool certainly look set to be in the Premier League title conversation alongside Arsenal this season. And Mohamed Salah is one player who looks to be back to something like his best.

Salah has been devastating for Liverpool, scoring 12 goals and contributing four assists in all competitions. And he has been helped by the likes of Diaz, Nunez and Jota. The trio have scored 11 league goals between them so far.

Saka meanwhile, is an ‘extraordinary’ talent. He has scored six goals and provided eight assists for Mikel Arteta’s men. Once again, he has been the standout performer for Arsenal so far.

Nevertheless, Danny Murphy has suggested that he would not have Bukayo Saka in his side ahead of Salah right now. In fact, none of Arsenal’s attackers would get in ahead of Liverpool’s forwards.

“When I look it’s firepower for me. That’s the key. There’s lot of arguments with Liverpool and Arsenal where you can say you’d rather have him than him. We could be here all day. And the managers are both terrific guys doing good things, Klopp obviously has more experience,” he told talkSPORT.

“The key thing when you look at Liverpool’s firepower compared to Arsenal’s. Nunez, Salah and Diaz would be my front three, you still have Jota and Gakpo to back them up. I don’t think when you name Arsenal’s you feel the same. Saka is not Salah, he’s a great player but he’s not Salah’s numbers. Nunez will score more than Jesus. Jota will score more than Jesus. Diaz will probably score more than Martinelli now he’s fit, or equal.”

Arsenal star has plenty of time to close the gap

If you look at the numbers, Salah does have the edge over Saka. Salah has been a phenomenon in the Premier League. Saka meanwhile, is only just beginning his career.

The Arsenal talisman also took a while to find a position he could nail down in the team. When he came into the side, he was a shining light during a miserable period for the club. So it was never going to be easy.

But it is fair to say that Saka is going to achieve some monumental numbers during his career, given his current trajectory.
