Wataru Endo believes he’s striking up a good understanding with Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister now.

Liverpool picked up a point at home to Manchester City yesterday but will be kicking themselves after creating the necessary chances to win the game.

John Stones opened the scoring inside 20 minutes after a smart corner from Kevin De Bruyne. Despite City dominating the early exchanges, Jurgen Klopp’s side certainly warmed to the task at hand.

Both Wataru Endo and Alexis Mac Allister played key roles in Liverpool winning the battle in midfield during the second period.

Mac Allister also stepped up to level things up from the spot just five minutes after halftime while Mohamed Salah remained on the bench.

And Endo, who is proving to be an astute signing for the Reds, has lauded the Argentine after his display at Anfield on Sunday.

Endo lauds ‘incredible’ Mac Allister

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, Endo admitted he’s enjoying playing alongside Mac Allister after yesterday’s draw.

“He’s incredible,” the Japanese midfielder said of Mac Allister. “We always try to help each other, especially when we have the ball. I have a very good feeling with him.

“And these younger players [produced] an amazing performance. Now [the] injured players are coming back, little by little, so I think that we are on a good way right now.”

Both Mac Allister and Endo arrived at Liverpool over the summer as Klopp revamped his midfield.

It’s fair to say that both players have settled in exceptionally well so far.

While many Liverpool fans were disappointed to miss out on Mac Allister’s former Brighton teammate Moises Caicedo, Endo has outperformed the Chelsea man this term.

As for Mac Allister, he’s certainly benefitted from Endo’s form in recent weeks as it has allowed him to move further up the pitch.

The World Cup winner is proving to be an incredible signing for Liverpool and has proven he can operate in a variety of midfield roles.
