155 Virgil van Dijk was incredible for Liverpool on Sunday.
The Dutchman was utterly brilliant for the Reds in the Carabao Cup final, not only did he score the winning goal against Chelsea at Wembley, he put in one of the greatest captain’s performances we’ve ever seen to guide an incredibly young team through a huge occasion.
Van Dijk was truly amazing against Chelsea, and, as you can imagine, he’s getting all sorts of praise in the wake of that performance.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, Michael Owen has been full of praise for the Liverpool captain, claiming that he is a truly complete player who has absolutely everything.

Owen shared his verdict on the Liverpool star.
“Man of the Match, match winner as well. His overall performance. He is one of the greats in my opinion. I was thinking back to the centre-halves I’ve watched and played against. What doesn’t he do? He’s got absolutely everything. He has to be one of the greatest centre-halves of all-time,” Owen said.
Has it all
Owen isn’t wrong about Van Dijk, this is a player who has absolutely everything you’d want a centre-back to have.
Size, speed, strength, technical ability, leadership, aerial ability, there isn’t a box that Van Dijk doesn’t tick.
The debate around who the best defender of all-time is will divide football fans across the globe, but after achieving so much for Liverpool over the past few years, Van Dijk certainly has to be in that conversation.
