Simon Jordan has shared whether he believes that Liverpool should consider Ange Postecoglou as the Reds prepare for life after Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.
Jurgen Klopp shocked the football world last week when he announced that he would be leaving Liverpool in the summer. Of course, replacing the German is a monumental task for the Reds board.
A number of names have already been linked. Many think Xabi Alonso is perfect for the role given his connections with Liverpool, as well as the work he is doing with Bayer Leverkusen.
Ange Postecoglou should be considered for Liverpool job
But there are others in the frame. And one of those with admirers at Liverpool in Ange Postecoglou. Postecoglou has definitely captured the imagination since taking the Tottenham Hotspur job in the summer.

Postecoglou is a boyhood Liverpool fan, according to The Athletic. And speaking on talkSPORT, Simon Jordan insisted that the Australian has to be a contender for the post.
“If I were involved with Liverpool, yeah I think he would be under consideration. Because I think he would provide a lot of the things Jurgen Klopp has managed to be successful in, which is galvanising the fanbase, the style of play, he’s got the charisma, the personality, the relatability, the style of play,” he said.
“He’s a winner. He’s won. Okay, you could make it the Scottish league. But he’s won. And Klopp won with Borussia Dortmund in Germany. So I think there’s a lot of similarities.”
Tottenham boss certainly stake his claim
Of course, the end of the season is a long way away. With that, some names currently being linked with the post may fall away. And others not yet in the conversation may emerge.
But should Postecoglou keep Tottenham in the title conversation for the majority of the rest of the campaign, then Liverpool would be foolish to not consider the 58-year-old.
Postecoglou was prepared to make the ruthless call to leave Celtic in the summer for Tottenham. And ultimately, given his connection with the Reds, you have to say that Liverpool would represent another step forward.
He may opt to stay at Spurs if he gets the chance to leave. And that would also make sense given how good a position the club finds itself.
But it would not be a shock if he proved to be the right man for the Liverpool job by the time Klopp steps aside.
