132 Diogo Jota has really stepped up for Liverpool in recent weeks.
Many wondered how Liverpool were going to fill the void Mohamed Salah left behind when he went to the African Cup of Nations, and Jota has very much provided the answer.
The Portuguese attacker has been incredible in recent weeks, and he was at it again this week with a goal against Chelsea.
Jota has been utterly fantastic as of late, and speaking on the Two Robbies Podcast, Robbie Mustoe has reserved some special praise for the attacker, claiming that he’s a diamond of a player.
Jota is a gem
Mustoe shared his verdict on the £40m man.
“Right now he’s without Mo Salah, but Diogo Jota, as we have said many times, he’s a diamond of a player, the central midfield area was totally rebuilt and looking better every week. Combine a back four with a hardworking midfielder and a high pressing frontline and you’re back to what Klopp is famous for with his teams,” Mustoe said.

We really can’t say enough how impressive Jota’s recent performances have been.
The striker has, for a little while now, been seen as a bit of a fringe player.
Indeed, Jota has been almost the fifth-string attacker in this quintet of fantastic attackers at Liverpool’s squad, but now, he’s become arguably the most important player in that frontline.
It’s hard to really get your head around the fact that this is the same player who went a year without a goal not too long ago, because, right now, he looks like he’s going to score every single time he steps onto the pitch.
Jota has really stepped up in Salah’s absence, and this run of form could be huge in deciding whether or not Liverpool ultimately win the Premier League this term.
