Caoimhin Kelleher is really making a name for himself at Liverpool now.
The Irishman was arguably Man of the Match in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, and that’s not the first time he’s produced a big performance on a massive stage.
Kelleher has proved over the past 18 months or so that he’s ready to make the step up and be a number one in the Premier League.
Speaking on the Optus Sport Football Podcast, Mark Schwarzer has been discussing Kelleher’s recent performances, and he reckons that the Irishman needs to leave Liverpool soon as he’s too good to sit on the bench behind Alisson for the next few years.

Schwarzer shared his verdict on the 25-year-old.
“Kelleher was absolutely outstanding, and I’m a big fan of his and he needs to go and play somewhere regularly if he’s not going to play at Liverpool and he’s not is he? I want to see him play elsewhere because he’s that good,” Schwarzer said.
Needs to play
As much as Kelleher is a valuable player at Liverpool, we do agree with Schwarzer here.
The most important thing for any player, and any goalkeeper, is to be playing regular minutes, and Kelleher just isn’t getting that at Liverpool.
Yes, he plays in the cups, but a keeper of his quality should be playing every single week.
It wasn’t too long ago that a goalkeeper by the name of Emi Martinez was in a very similar situation to Kelleher when he was at Arsenal, and the decision to make the leap of faith and join Aston Villa has ultimately proved to be the best decision he’s ever made.
Kelleher should follow Martinez’s example and get a move to another Premier League club where he will play every single week.
