Jurgen Klopp has been speaking about Liverpool ahead of facing Arsenal this weekend and had some high praise for his forward, Diogo Jota.
Jota has been in fine form this season and become an integral player, especially with Mo Salah being at the AFCON and then injured throughout January.
The Portuguese forward was a £45m signing from Wolves back in 2020. Since then, he’s become a favourite among the Anfield faithful and is a constant menace in the frontline for the Reds.
And speaking about Jota in his press conference today, Klopp has lauded the forward.

Speaking about a number of his players, Klopp got onto Jota and admitted he was delighted with how the Portuguese star is playing.
“He just has it. He is a complete package. With – and he knows that and everybody knows that – a few injuries in the wrong time, and a few too many as well. Unlucky, wow. Diogo gets, in each game, knocks like crazy. If I go through the list of medical reports I got over the years since Diogo is here, he is in each and every one of them. Not as injured, just as he has a bruise, has a knock, has that, has that after each game, so he really gets it. On top of that, a couple of times he was out and absolutely for too long. Otherwise his numbers would look completely different. Now he was in a really good shape before he got injured, came back and is in a really good shape. He is literally flying in the moment. Everything looks light, looks fresh, looks explosive and on top of that, he always was an extremely smart footballer,” Klopp said.
One of the main men
Liverpool are lucky enough to be blessed with some outstanding talent across the frontline but you have to say that Diogo Jota is a star.
He has almost made it impossible for Jurgen Klopp to drop him and there’s absolutely no doubt he’ll be in the starting XI to face Arsenal this weekend.
That leaves the other positions up for grabs and with Salah potentially back, it could be a straight fight for the left forward slot.
Jota has been one of Liverpool’s best buys in recent years and while eyebrows might have been raised at the time, the £40m+ fee is now looking like a bargain.
