Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has heaped praise on Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk ahead of the big game tomorrow.
Jurgen Klopp‘s side host the defending champions in what could be the most important game of the season. The winner will become the favourites to lift the title, and the battle between Haaland and Van Dijk will be a fascinating watch.

Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk is one of the best defenders in the world. He has everything in his game.
The Dutchman is one of the biggest reasons why Liverpool have been so successful over the years, and he will be key once again tomorrow when Manchester City come to town.
Van Dijk will be up against Erling Haaland, who is arguably the best striker in the world right now. If the Norwegian turns up, City will back themselves to win the game.
However, Haaland is more than aware of the challenge of facing Van Dijk. He seems really impressed with the Liverpool skipper.
The Manchester City striker told TNT Sports: “He’s the main guy in Liverpool. I’ve said it for many years, he’s unreal, and I also heard he’s a real nice guy as well, so that also helps.
“He’s a monster, and I like to play against players like him because then you really test yourself. It’s going to be a nice game.”
Van Dijk vs Haaland could decide the game
Liverpool and Manchester City both have incredible players who can win games on their own.
However, Erling Haaland is Pep Guardiola‘s main man, and Virgil van Dijk will be tasked with the job of stopping the Norway international.
Liverpool are giving away chances to their opponents in recent weeks. Even Sparta Prague had plenty of opportunities to score on Thursday.
Haaland will be hoping he will get on the end of those chances tomorrow, but if there’s one man who can stop him, it’s Van Dijk. We feel this battle could decide who wins the game.
