132 Stepping up to first-team training at Liverpool must be daunting.
This Liverpool squad is packed full of bona fide legends.
The likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all world-class players, and training alongside these stars as a youngster must be scary.
Speaking on the Blood Red Podcast, Liverpool youngster, Dominic Corness, has been discussing what it’s like to train with the first-team, and he’s highlighted one player who was incredible in these sessions.
Thiago is incredible in training
Corness spoke about what it’s like to train alongside Thiago Alcantara, praising the £20m man.
“Thiago is one of your idols, so what’s it like training with him. He’s had a bad time with injuries, but he’s still one of the best midfielders in world football,” Corness was asked.
“Yeah definitely, as you say when I was training with the first team last year I was trying to take as much as possible from his game because he is unbelievable and it was a pleasure to be able to train with him,” Corness said.
Thiago may be Liverpool’s most talented player
It’s not at all surprising to hear this about Thiago.
In terms of natural ability, there may not be a player in the Premier League who is more gifted than Thiago.
Unfortunately, as we all know, fitness is a huge issue for the Spaniard and he’s not been able to be available for selection anywhere near often enough for Liverpool.
Thiago, on his day, is still one of the best players in the world, but, sadly, we’re not seeing those days anywhere near often enough.
Thiago has likely played his final game for Liverpool as his contract expires this summer, and while he didn’t carve out the greatest legacy at Anfield, he will be remembered as a player who was truly beautiful to watch.
