Jurgen Klopp believes Darwin Nunez is the ‘perfect fit’ for his Liverpool side now after showing plenty of promise last season.
The Liverpool boss spoke to Viaplay after yesterday’s 3-0 win over Brentford and singled out Nunez for praise.
Nunez put in an encouraging display against the Bees on Sunday and provided an excellent assist for Mohamed Salah’s opener.
The 24-year-old’s early-season form has been impressive as he’s managed eight goal contributions in 11 Premier League appearances.
Of course, the Uruguayan endured a mixed start to life at Anfield last time out as he showed plenty of promise but struggled in the final third.
But Jurgen Klopp believes Nunez has become the perfect player for his system now.

Speaking to Viaplay, Klopp lauded Nunez after a ‘top’ display against Brentford.
“It was a top performance of Darwin,” the Liverpool boss said. “The work-rate he put in, the way he defended.
“When we talked last year about Darwin Nunez everybody saw his potential but it was a bit like ‘yeah but defensively he has to adapt, we need him there’.
“It was like 50/50. The way we play and he played. But now it is a perfect fit, I have to say.
“The way he connected the game for us in a super difficult moment where two or three players were around him he still kept it. I’m really happy for him that he makes these steps.
“Because he will get assists and score goals and he was involved again in nearly everything. He’s happy, you can see it on the pitch, he is here now. 100% here.”

His link-up play was excellent once again yesterday and he’s already registered four assists in the league this season.
Ian Wright also believes Nunez is improving and his development under Klopp’s guidance is undeniable.
At 24, you’d imagine the best is yet to come from the forward and he looks set to continue his recent run in the side.
