Conor Bradley has been the surprise star of Liverpool’s season so far.
The young right-back has been utterly brilliant for the Reds in his recent appearances, and now that Trent Alexander-Arnold is, sadly, once again injured, Bradley is set for another run in the side.
We’re all anticipating the youngster to continue his good form, but the reality is that he wasn’t always this highly rated.
Indeed, while this has been a breakout campaign for Bradley, he did struggle to start with, making a few dodgy appearances in the Europa League before properly settling.
Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Shaun Wright-Phillips has been discussing Bradley’s rise to prominence and he says that the youngster has proven a lot of people wrong as many were giving him stick after those first few appearances.

Wright-Phillips spoke about the young defender.
“In so many ways, I wouldn’t say they got lucky, but the replacement of Conor Bradley for Trent, that doesn’t happen often where you put a young kid in that quickly and his performances go from here to here. He played in Europe and he got a bit of stick, but he’s had another chance, he’s come in, and he’s the perfect replacement for Trent. Trent can now be filtered back in rather than just saying ‘here you go’,” Wright-Phillips said.
Incredible
We can’t help but be impressed by how much Bradley has improved in such a short space of time.
As Wright-Phillips says, the full-back didn’t necessarily impress all that much in his early appearances, but now, he looks every bit a Liverpool player.
Bradley is set for a run in the team now, and, in all honesty, there hasn’t been much talk of that affecting the title race, that’s how much he’s impressed in recent weeks.
Liverpool have found another gem here, that’s for sure.
