‘He gets very strong’: Wataru Endo says one Liverpool player gets better during matches

Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo has given his verdict on teammate Alexis Mac Allister.

Both Endo and Mac Allister joined Liverpool in the summer transfer window, and the former has been impressed with the Argentina international midfielder.

So, what has Wataru Endo said about his Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo has been speaking about a number of teammates on the club’s official website.

One of them is Alexis Mac Allister, and Endo has been hugely impressed. The Japan international has noted how the Argentina international changes and grows during matches.

Japan international defensive midfielder Endo, 30, moved to Liverpool from VfB Stuttgart in the summer of 2023.

Mac Allister, 24, switched to the Reds from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.

Endo told Liverpool’s official website about Mac Allister: “Macca is more offensive, but defensively he always tries to make it better. As he keeps playing, he gets very strong defensively.

“Also, I can learn a lot of things from him and I think it’s a good balance between me and Macca. He is still young, but he has already won the World Cup and has a very good mentality.”

Alexis Mac Allister an important player for Liverpool

In my view, Alexis Mac Allister has already established himself as an important player for Liverpool and has impressed his Premier League rivals as well.

The 24-year-old, who won the 2022 Qatar World Cup, is a regular in the Liverpool midfield. Manager Jurgen Klopp clearly trusts him.

The midfielder has made 11 appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool this season. Mac Allister has given one assist in those games.

On the other hand, Endo is struggling. I do not think that the Japan international defensive midfielder is going to become a first-team regular and will be a squad player at Anfield.

The 30-year-old has made two starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League. Endo has scored one goal in four UEFA Europa League games.

Liverpool are second in the Premier League table with 27 points from 12 matches, a point behind leaders and defending champions Manchester City.
