Danny Murphy has issued his verdict after being asked whether Liverpool could now consider an approach for Thomas Tuchel ahead of his departure from Bayern Munich in the summer.
Taking over at Bayern Munich certainly does not appear to have done much for Thomas Tuchel‘s stock. The German only won the Bundesliga title with virtually the last kick of last season. And it appears that they are on course to miss out to Bayer Leverkusen this time around.

They also have a deficit to overturn if they are going to reach the quarter-final of the Champions League. So it is hardly surprising that there is set to be a parting of the ways in the summer.

But speaking on talkSPORT, Danny Murphy is not expecting his former club to make any sort of approach for Tuchel as they consider Jurgen Klopp‘s successor.
“No, doesn’t fit, no, he’s too divisive. No, he’s not a Liverpool manager. Not for me,” he said.
“You’ll always get a few in the minority thinking it’s a good idea. But it’s not. And I think most Liverpool fans will agree with me. The style of football he won the Champions League with isn’t how Liverpool play football and how Liverpool fans want to see Liverpool play.”
Bayern boss does know about succeeding Jurgen Klopp
What you would say is that Tuchel understands the demands of taking over from Jurgen Klopp. He has managed at both Mainz and Borussia Dortmund after the Reds boss. In fact, he was Klopp’s replacement at the latter.
But Xabi Alonso appears to be on pole position to succeed Klopp this time around. And it is Alonso who is keeping Tuchel’s Bayern off top spot. So there are going to be plenty of Liverpool fans who would be disappointed if they turned to Tuchel.
