'He didn't like that': Jurgen Klopp says £150,000-a-week Liverpool star was annoyed last night despite the win

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Alisson Becker wasn’t too happy last night even though his side picked up a 4-2 win over Newcastle United.

The Reds were fantastic, weren’t they? They scored four, could’ve easily netted a few more and were dominant from the first minute until the last. However, Liverpool did concede twice, and Klopp says that really irritated the £150,000-a-week (Spotrac) Liverpool number one.

Jurgen Klopp says Alisson Becker was annoyed after Liverpool vs Newcastle

Liverpool don’t really have a lot to complain about after the first half of the season.

They are sitting comfortably on top of the Premier League table – five points ahead of both Arsenal and Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side do have a game in hand.

Last night’s game against Newcastle could’ve been a really tricky one, and the fact that the two sides went in at the break at 0-0 must have been frustrating for the Reds.

However, they got the job done in the second half thanks to a brace from Mohamed Salah and goals from Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo.

Newcastle, however, conceded twice, and Klopp revealed after the game that Alisson wasn’t a happy man.

He said, as per Liverpool’s official website: “Obviously again a really good game from start to finish and again if you have these options to bring on, that’s obviously pretty helpful.

“I loved the game, I loved the atmosphere, everything was perfect besides the goals obviously conceded; we could see that on Ali [Alisson Becker]’s face especially, he didn’t like that fact. But we take that for tonight and keep going.”

Liverpool should back themselves to win the Premier League title

At the start of this season, nobody really expected Liverpool to be in the title race – almost everyone felt it was going to be between Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Reds, however, are five points clear of both of them as we enter the new year, and they should now really believe they can go all the away.

However, the first test for the Reds now is to deal with the absences of Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo, who are both going away on international duty now.

If Liverpool can get through the next month unscathed, they will be the favourites to win the Premier League title – even though Gary Neville thinks Arsenal will win it this season
