Jurgen Klopp noticed that Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher kept passing to youngster Jarell Quansah last night.

Klopp spoke to the media after Liverpool’s 2-1 victory at Bournemouth on Wednesday evening. 

A Darwin Nunez stunner booked Liverpool’s place in the quarter-finals of the League Cup after Justin Kluivert had cancelled out Cody Gakpo’s opener.

Liverpool made several changes on the night as Klopp named a makeshift backline alongside second-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

Jarell Quansah was also given the nod alongside Joel Matip and the youngster impressed once again.

The 20-year-old has put in some encouraging displays in the Europa League and Carabao Cup so far this season and looks set for a bright future at Anfield.

And while Klopp was impressed with the centre-back’s display, he also noticed he linked up well with Kelleher.

Klopp noticed Kelleher kept passing to Quansah last night

Speaking to the media after last night’s win at the Vitality Stadium, Klopp singled out Quansah for praise.

“That’s the other thing which was obvious: that he was really good,” Klopp said of Quansah. “In these circumstances, wow.

“So many difficult balls to judge, to estimate, where is it coming down? He did really well.

“On the ball, Caoimhin [Kelleher] thought give him the ball quite a lot and let’s see what he can do.

“He did really well there. Yes, top game, absolutely.” as quoted by Liverpool’s official website.

Quansah has already shown he possesses the required qualities on the ball to thrive in Klopp’s system.

The youngster looked composed under pressure last night and Klopp has already admitted he’s excited about the Quansah’s potential.

As for Kelleher, he remains a trusted option for Klopp to call upon in cup competitions and the Europa League.

The 24-year-old was linked with a move away from Anfield over the summer and while he will undoubtedly be keen to play regularly in the future, it’s difficult to see him replacing Alisson anytime soon.
