102 Arne Slot has been urged to sell two Liverpool players after he is confirmed as the next Reds manager.
Liverpool have been on the hunt for a new boss since Jurgen Klopp announced in January that he would be leaving at the end of this season.
The German is one of the Reds’ greatest-ever managers, and finding a replacement for him has taken over three whole months.
Nothing has officially been confirmed yet, but Fabrizio Romano claimed this week that all documents have been signed by Slot, Liverpool and Feyenoord – the deal is done.
The Liverpool job will be the biggest of Slot’s managerial career, and he has now received some advice on what he should do right after he takes charge of the club.
Arne Slot told what to do with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool
If you ask any Liverpool fan to name their two best players, the answer will most likely be Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.
The Reds signed the Egypt international from AS Roma in the summer of 2018, and Van Dijk joined him at Anfield six months later, in the January transfer window.
The two world-class players have arguably been the biggest reason why Liverpool have been so successful over the last few years.
Salah and Van Dijk are still key players for Liverpool – the former is even the club captain.
However, both players will enter the final year of their respective contracts this summer, and a decision has to be made on their future.
Former Dutch international turned pundit René van der Gijp has some advice for Arne Slot on how to deal with this situation when he becomes the Liverpool manager.
He thinks Slot should get rid of both Van Dijk and Salah.
He told Vandaag Inside: “I think Slot would do best to slowly replace guys like Salah and Van Dijk.
“I read that Dortmund would be interested in Van Dijk, instead of Hummels. Then you play in a slightly easier competition.
“Salah also has to leave. That would be best for him. He has performed incredibly, year after year. Now the wear slowly starts to get on a bit. That is not easy.
“Your ego is affected, in the pecking order you fall down.”

Mohamed Salah has been in the news a lot over the last few days after his spat with Jurgen Klopp at the London Stadium.
Both, the player and the manager, weren’t happy with each other, and Salah went as far as saying there would be ‘fire’ if he spoke about the incident.
That increased the speculation surrounding Salah’s future at Liverpool, but Michael Edwards has absolutely zero interest in letting his star attacker leave.
Fabrizio Romano revealed recently that Edwards does not want to sell Salah, and we’re sure incoming boss Arne Slot would love to keep him too.
However, it will be interesting to see what Liverpool will do if Salah refuses to extend his deal this summer.
